Instructions for the preparation of final manuscripts

Please do NOT re-submit the paper through the website.

Please note that we need: It is the intention of the organizers to have the conference proceedings available for the delegates and to produce them in superior quality. Consequently, the instructions and deadlines below must be strictly respected. Contributions cannot be included, unless registration, full payment of the fee, manuscripts and abstract are received by:

  1. Language
    The conference language is English

  2. Paper Size
    The manuscript should be processed on either

  3. Maximum Volume of Manuscript
    The maximum length including diagrams and references is seven pages for regular papers. Additional pages are charged separately according to the registration form.

  4. Format
    The manuscripts should be prepared in two column format with the exception of figures and tables, which may be either in one column or across the full page, as appropriate.

  5. Margins
    Use of A4 size paper
    Left and right margin: 20 mm each
    Central margin (between columns): 10 mm
    Top margin: 34 mm
    Bottom margin: 34 mm

    Use of Letter size paper
    Left and right margin: 0.78" (respectively 20 mm) each
    Central margin (between columns): 0.39" (respectively 10 mm)
    Top margin: 1" (respectively 25.4 mm)
    Bottom margin: 1" (respectively 25.4 mm)

  6. Type-Face and Size
    We recommend the use of a proportional, serif type face such as Times New Roman. In general please use type-size 10, respectively size 14 and 12 for titles and subtitles.

  7. Spacing
    All text has to be single-spaced with double-spacing between paragraphs.

  8. Composition of manuscripts
    A manuscript must include the following items:
    (a) Main title, centered across both columns (we recommend type size 14).
    (b) Names and affiliations of the authors with a complete address for correspondence, including email address if possible (we recommend type size 12).
    (c) Abstract of about 200 words at the beginning of the paper.
    (d) Concluding section.

    (e) Only MS Word (.doc) or ASCII Text (.text) files allowed. Please name the document "A#.doc" or "A#.txt" where # is your papernumber.

  10. Figures and Tables
    Figures and tables should be arranged throughout the text, or if necessary, at the end. In the text, reference should be made to them, such as 'Figure 5' or 'Table 6'. Please make sure that figures or photographs are suitable for black & white printing.

  11. List of references
    Every kind of citation style as used in technical journals is allowed.

  12. Page Numbers / Paper Code
    Do not put any marks or page numbers on the front! On hard copies, indicate instead the page numbers and the paper number lightly at the back in pencil.

  13. Mailing of Electronic Manuscripts
    Electronic submission is obligatory to enhance the reproduction quality of the proceedings. PDF files should be sent to planning@icsc.ab.ca
    Proper receipt of the manuscript and the abstract will be acknowledged by email.

  14. Deadline
    Manuscript and registration must be received by: [Important Dates]. A confirmation of receipt will be sent by email.

  15. General
    We wish to simulate the usual appearance of typeset papers in technical journals. Accordingly please follow the above instructions as closely as possible. It may not be possible to include manuscripts in the conference proceedings, if they are not prepared according to the above instructions or arrive too late at the NAISO offices. We thank you for your cooperation!

Presentation at the conference
Each paper will be presented by one of the authors. The time assigned for each paper is 20 minutes (including 5 minutes for discussion).

Conference language is English.

Each conference room is provided with an overhead projector for transparent films. For any further requirements planning@icsc.ab.ca must be contacted prior to the conference.

The organizers will try to honor special scheduling requests, but cannot guarantee to do so. Requests must be received as early as possible.
