All papers submitted to NAISO conferences are peer reviewed to guarantee the quality of the papers, hence the conference. The reviewer remains anonimous to the authors.

All conferences and, if applicable, the different symposia of a conference, have an International Program Committee. The submitted papers will be assigned to the members of these committees according to their fields of interest. The reviews are done through the website.

All papers are reviewed based on the same evaluation form.

First the paper will be judged based on six objective criteria, which are originality (does this paper make a new contribution to the field?), technical quality (does this paper assist in the development of technology?), relevance to the topic of the conference, significance of the results, comprehensibility of the contribution and general impression. The reviewer can classify these matters on a 1 to 4 scale on which 1 = Excellent, 2 = Good, 3 = Medium, 4 = Insufficient. Based on his opinion of the paper he can choose out of 4 review results: 'Accept as is', 'Accept as poster', 'Accept subject to changes being satisfactorily made' and 'Reject'. The reviewer is then given the opportunity to add comments as to why he decided the way he did. If you wish to see the evaluation form that is used for the reviews, please download this pdf- file. When we receive the evaluation from the reviewer we communicate the result to the author by email. When the paper is accepted, you will also receive an official acceptance letter by mail. The recommendations of the reviewer can be:

The first two recommendations result in the sending of an acceptance letter to the author.
Once we receive the final manuscript, abstract and the registration fee, the participation to the conference becomes final.

The third recommendation 'Accept subject to changes being satisfactorily made' results in the sending of an email to the author with the comments of the reviewer. The author can take the comments into consideration and prepare the final manuscript with these changes incorporated. Once we receive this final paper, we resend it to the reviewer and if this results in acceptance of the paper, the same procedure as described above is valid. The author will also receive an official acceptance letter.

The last recommendation is to reject the paper. A notification of this will be send to the author with the comments of the reviewer included.
